Trash
Trash Pick up is available in both the lake units and the hill units.
Trash Service Recipients must adhere to the following guidelines, failure to follow these guidelines may result in trash service being skipped that week, suspended, or canceled if the problem persists and there is no reasonable resolution.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the district office at (530) 233- 2766.
- Trash Pick-up will be on a Weekly Basis, Monday for Lake Units and Tuesday for Hill Units. Apart from Holidays that fall on those days, trash service will resume on the day following the observed holiday. (In most cases, Tuesday or Wednesday)
- You are allowed a maximum of 2 trash cans, up to 40 gal., weighing no more than 35lbs. each, per week. All extra cans/bags will be charged to the customers account at a rate of $3.00 each.
- Customers must provide their own trash cans and bags. CalPines CSD is not responsible for replacing old or broken trash cans. Customers must replace broken cans when they no longer become usable (broken, cracked, rusted, etc.)
- Trash must be bagged inside the trash can. Extra trash must also be bagged and placed near cans to be picked up.
- ONLY household garbage will be accepted (no cat litter, tree limbs, grass, leaves, microwaves, batteries, TVs, computers… etc.)
- Please do not tie your trash cans to anything, doing so makes it impossible for our employees to lift cans to dump them into the trash truck.
- During winter months, when rain, snow and freezing temperatures are expected, it is a good idea to poke holes into the bottom of your trash cans to drain any rain or melted snow that could get inside the can and freeze. This can make your trash can too heavy to lift or make the trash impossible to retrieve from the can
- If garbage is frozen and sticks to the walls of the can, CSD employees will not reach into a trash can to retrieve frozen garbage. This is to ensure the safety of our employees. We encourage our trash customers to have lids for their can(s).
Green Waste
At this time we do not provide a green waste trash service, but CalPines CSD-Fire can assist in burning green waste in the late fall, winter and early spring as long as weather permits. Please call the district office for more information.
Recycling
We do encourage our community to recycle to the best of their ability, unfortunately California Pines doesn't have the infrastructure for a community based recycling program at this time. We are investigating ways to implement a recycling program through CalRecycle. In the meantime, there are local recyclers, where you can recycle certain materials if you are able.
