Trash

May contain: plant, vegetation, tree, grass, pine, and logo

Trash Pickup is available in both the lake units and the hill units.

  • Monthly Solid Waste Collection Rates:
    • Lake Units: $26.02
    • Hill Units: $33.56

Solid Waste Service Recipients must adhere to the following guidelines. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in trash service being skipped, suspended, or canceled if the problem persists and there is no reasonable resolution:

  • Trash pick-up occurs weekly: Monday for Lake Units, Tuesday for Hill Units, and on all holidays except Christmas Day.
  • You may have a maximum of 2 trash cans, each up to 40 gallons and weighing no more than 35 pounds per week. Any additional cans or bags will incur a charge of $3.00 each to the customer’s account.
  • Customers are required to supply their own trash cans and bags. CalPines CSD will not replace old or damaged trash cans. Customers need to replace trash cans that are no longer usable due to being broken, cracked, rusted, or otherwise defective.
  • Trash must be bagged in the trash can. Any additional trash must also be bagged and placed next to the cans for collection.
  • Only household waste will be accepted (no cat litter, tree branches, grass, leaves, microwaves, batteries, TVs, computers, etc.).
  • CalPines Fire Department offers assistance with burning green waste during late fall, winter, and early spring, weather permitting. For more information, please contact the district office.
  • Please refrain from tying your trash cans to any objects. This action prevents our employees from lifting the cans and emptying them into the trash truck.
  • When forecasts predict rain, snow, or freezing temperatures during winter, it's advisable to create drainage holes at the bottom of your trash cans. This prevents rainwater or melted snow from accumulating inside and freezing, which can render the trash can too heavy to handle or make it difficult to retrieve the trash can.
  • If garbage freezes and adheres to the can's walls, our CSD employees will not reach into a frozen trash can to retrieve it. This policy is in place to prioritize employee safety. We advise our trash customers to provide lids for their cans.
For any questions or concerns, please reach out to the district office at (530) 233- 2766.

Dumpster Pricing:

  • 1 week & 1 dump = $40.21
  • 2 weeks & 1 dump = $50.21
  • 2 weeks & 2 dumps = $80.42

Green Waste

Currently, we do not provide a green waste trash service, but CalPines CSD-Fire can assist in burning green waste in the late fall, winter, and early spring as long as weather permits. Please call the district office for more information.

Recycling

We do encourage our community to recycle to the best of their ability. Unfortunately, California Pines doesn't have the infrastructure for a community-based recycling program.  We are investigating ways to implement a recycling program through CalRecycle. In the meantime, there are local recyclers where you can recycle certain materials if you are able.
