  • Before the District connects a property to the California Pines Water and Sewage System, a valid Building Permit issued by the County of Modoc's Building Department must be presented to the District Office so the District may retain a copy.
  • The fee to connect to our infrastructure is $3,300 for water and $1,500 for sewer. We will start the connection process once the fee is paid in full, along with a valid building permit.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does the connection fee have to be paid in full?

Yes.

Is there a payment plan?

No.

Can the fee be paid before obtaining a building permit?

Yes, but the connection process will not start until a building permit is presented to the district office.

What is the water connection process?

The district will be responsible for the connection at the main distribution line, installing the appropriately sized service connection appliances/valves, and supplying and installing an appropriately sized meter shutoff valve.

What happens if the main water/sewer line isn't on the same side of the street as the property?

The district will not be responsible for cutting and crossing the road or other properties, nor will it incur the cost of all ditch construction, road repair, or additional excavation. It will be the responsibility of the property owner. The property owner should also have a Licensed Contractor complete this portion of the process.

What is the sewer connection process?

The district's responsibility will solely lie in the construction related to the established sewer infrastructure, basic connection at the main distribution line, and maintenance of existing sewer lines. The district will install the appropriately sized service connection. This does not include the installation of new sewer lines leading to the desired property. The property owner will bear this cost.
