The Fire Department's and the Community Service District's services are essential. The loss of these services could mean outsourcing tasks and services like fire safety, sewage, water, and trash collection, longer wait times for emergency personnel, and even putting residents of California Pines at risk. These things are what make California Pines special and stand out among other communities in Modoc County. These organizations can be certain to survive for many years to come with only a slight tax increase.
